Location
Fardalehill is situated immediately adjacent to the western edge of Kilmarnock.
Development proposals
The Fardalehill site extends to approximately 25 hectares and is being promoted as a residentially led urban extension incorporating housing, primary school, commercial uses and community facilities.
Project status
The Fardalehill site has an allocation in the Finalised East Ayrshire Local plan for residential development. An outline planning application around 500 houses, complete with Environmental Statement and Masterplan, was submitted in February 2009.
Planning permission is expected in early 2011 and the first phase of site infrastructure and servicing should commence in 2012.
