Location
The site is to the west of Kilmarnock, opposite Lands
Improvement’s Moorfield Residential site.
Development proposals
The Moorfield North employment site extends to around 26 hectares. Lands Improvement agreed with East Ayrshire Council that there was merit in looking at a joint servicing package for the employment and residential sites at Moorfield. Lands Improvement secured outline planning permission for the site in 2003 and subsequently obtained full planning permission for the creation of development platforms and the installation of all infrastructure.
Project status
The site has been developed in partnership with East Ayrshire Council and with the assistance of the European Regional Development Fund.
Lands Improvement constructed the main roundabout for the site and provided all off site services in 2004. We subsequently installed the main spine road for the site and constructed development platforms for Phase 1, dealing with all contamination, so that fully serviced plots could be offered to the market. Four plots have now been sold to local and nationwide firms and three new units have been constructed and occupied.
