Location
The site lies to the north west of Telford, off Redhill Way.

Development proposals
The former clay pit was purchased from Redland / Lafarge in 2001. Lands Improvement received outline planning permission for residential development on the site in January 2006 following the signing of a Section 106 planning agreement. This will be a landmark scheme for Telford. The planning gain package includes the delivery of an Ecology Park within a County Wildlife Site which makes provision for a population of Great Crested Newts. The scheme will also deliver affordable housing on site and makes substantial contributions to local community initiatives.

Project status
A reserved matters approval for the Ecology Park was granted in mid 2006. The construction of the Ecology Park is envisaged to begin in early 2007. Lands Improvement is currently preparing design guides for the site which will build on the material submitted with the outline planning application. Lands Improvement hopes to undertake earthmoving operations to create development platforms and install all infrastructure in 2008.
