The land at Houghton Regis is located between the edge of the town and the new M1-A5 Link Road to the north and between the M1 on the eastern side and the A5120 to the west. Houghton Regis forms part of the Luton/Dunstable conurbation and is situated about 37 miles north of London with excellent road and rail communications.
LIH is leading a consortium to develop up to 5,150 homes, 1.25 million sq ft of distribution and up to 1 million sq ft of retail, office and leisure development, together with associated open space, schools and community facilities. The scheme has now achieved outline planning consent and detailed master-planning is progressing.
The consortium is progressing detailed master-planning with a view to submitting pre-commencement details at the end of this year and a construction start on infrastructure in mid-2018. It is anticipated housebuilding will commence in the first half of 2019.
